Press Release of Al Hamad "A" Division Trophy

The Abu Dhabi Cricket Council is proud to announce that the Al Hamad Contracting Trophy "A" Division Tournament shall commence on 15th Feb,2013. Matches shall be played at the Zayed Cricket Stadium, Nursery Oval # 1 & 2.
This will be the 3rd Edition under the banner of Al Hamad group of Companies.
This shall also be the 22nd edition of the tournament and clearly demonstrates ADCC's continued commitment to the promotion of the sport of cricket.
A total of 16 teams shall participate & will be divided into 4 groups, two top team from each group shall qualify for the knock out stage .The 50 Overs matches will be played every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. All the games shall be played on a round robin basis, a quarter finals semi-final and the final respectively.
Friday match will start at 3:00 pm while Thursday and Saturday games will start at 3.30 p m.
Day games at oval Ground #1 &2 start at 9.00 am
All participating teams shall be provided with colored clothing and there are generous cash prizes and trophies for the winners ( AED 20,000 ), runners up ( AED 12,000 ) as well as a host of other awards such as Man of the matches ( Each round match), Man of the Tournament, best batsman, & bowler

Al Hamad Contracting Company was established in Sharjah in February 1985. From its humble beginnings of constructing four-storey buildings the company was granted license upgrade to Unlimited Category - the highest classification in its class - in less than four years.
As of current records, Al Hamad is the only UAE based construction Company to launch mega projects in North Africa.
As a fully integrated construction solution provider, the group has established independent companies to handle the production of a wide array of construction related products such as Aluminum fabrication and Extrusion, Sheet Metal fabrication, Carpentry and joinery, stainless steel, glazing, Poly vinyl Chloride (PVC) fabrication and Marble processing; and Concrete technology for producing Pre-cast, Hollow Core, Plastbau and Glass Reinforced Concrete (GRC). The company also made investments in glass manufacturing as well as cement and aggregate production through Select Glass Industry and Turkish Gulf Quarry.
The Management of Al Hamad represented by Mr. Nashat F. Sahawneh and Mr. Ezzat Sahawneh, General Manager, stated that the group supports generously the development of sports in the UAE. The company is one of the key sponsors of the Dubai Rugby 7's Tournament for more than 10 years. Apart from this, Al Hamad also has contributed to various sports clubs and associations including Sharjah cultural and Sports Club, Ajman Cultural and Sports Club & Ras Al Khaimah Shooting Club.
Al Hamad has evolved a very strong cricket team from its employees and with the immense interest and motivation of the management, has emerged as one of the strongest cricket teams of UAE.
Wajahat Husain, President of ADCC stated that "HH Sheikh Nahayan has a clear vision to encourage top level cricket amongst the local and expatriate population of Abu Dhabi and UAE. ADCC has been aligned to this vision and supported the game with passion and with the intent to produce cricketers worthy of their place in the UAE National team".

This tournament, with their support, shall provide opportunities to cricketers to demonstrate their talent and skills and go on to represent the UAE with honour.

It is only with such opportunities that our budding talent will flourish and remind us of the 1996 World Cup when the UAE team also participated. We would want to be part of the World's greatest cricketing event again."
